When you use ChessLair, we may collect limited account information including your full name, email address, and Google account profile information provided during login.
We also store the chess openings, repertoires, groups, variations, move comments, preferences, and other chess-related content you create inside your account.
We do not collect or store your Google password.
Authentication is handled using Better Auth with Google login only. Cookies may be used to keep you signed in, manage secure sessions, and protect access to your account.
ChessLair allows you to create and store chess openings, repertoires, groups, folders, variations, and comments. This content is currently private to your account.
In the future, ChessLair may allow users to share openings with other users through sharing features or links. If you use these features, the openings you choose to share may become visible to the users you share them with.
Payments and subscriptions are processed securely by Stripe. ChessLair does not store or process your payment card details.
We may store a Stripe customer identifier, subscription status, and payment-related records needed to manage your subscription and access to paid features.
Stripe may retain payment, invoice, subscription, and customer records as required for billing, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and legal compliance.
ChessLair is hosted on Vercel, and our database is hosted using Supabase. We take commercially reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure.
No online service can guarantee complete security, but we aim to use reliable providers and reasonable safeguards to protect the data we handle.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share information only with essential service providers needed to operate ChessLair, including Google, Stripe, Vercel, and Supabase.
If email features are added in the future, we may use an email provider such as Resend to send service-related emails.
You may delete your account at any time. When your account is deleted, your account information and all openings, repertoires, groups, folders, variations, and comments linked to your account are permanently deleted from ChessLair.
If your account has an active Stripe subscription, ChessLair will attempt to cancel that subscription before deleting your local account data. Stripe billing records, invoices, and transaction records may remain available in Stripe where required for legal, accounting, tax, fraud prevention, or dispute purposes.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights over your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, or request a copy of your personal data.
